BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s hockey team pulled within one goal with seven minutes left, but Ferris State held on to post a 2-1 Central Collegiate Hockey Association victory on Friday at Slater Family Ice Arena.
BGSU fell to 14-14-1 (11-9-1 CCHA), while Ferris State improved to 11-13-3 (8-9-2).
BGSU’s Chase Gresock scored at the 12:24 mark of the third period to make it 2-1. Taylor Schneider and Austen Swankler assisted on the goal.
Ferris State’s Noah Giesbrecht posted 32 saves in keeping BGSU scoreless for most the game.
Ferris State’s Jason Brancheau scored at 10:14 in the first period to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.
