BOWLING GREEN — Entering the third period of Game 1 of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinals, Bowling Green State University was down by three goals to Northern Michigan.
The Falcons scored two goals in the last period, both by Taylor Schneider, but it wasn’t enough as BG fell 4-3 to Northern Michigan in the opener of the best-of-3 series at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
BG will take on Northern Michigan Saturday at 7 p.m. for Game 2. If necessary, the Falcons and Wildcats will face off in Game 3 Sunday at 5 p.m.
Schneider and BGSU scored first, with Sam Craggs and Tim Theocharidis assisting on the goal.
