MANKATO, Minn. — The Bowling Green State University hockey team was more competitive than the night before, but the result ended up still being disappointing for the Falcons in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association matchup.
BGSU got it to overtime with Jaden Grant’s third-period goal, then in the extra session Minnesota State’s Rhett St. Pitlick converted a power-play goal for a 3-2 Mavericks victory at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.
Minnesota State swept the two-game series with Bowling Green after winning 4-1 Friday.
Both teams scored in the first period, BGSU first 3:46 into the game on an even-strength goal by Ben Doran, assisted by Quinn Emerson and Ryan O’Hara.
