BGSU hall of famer, Clay alum Achter named as Western Michigan's head women's basketball coach

KALAMAZOO — Clay graduate Kate Achter is pretty familiar with the Mid-American Conference.

She spent four seasons from 2004-2008 at Bowling Green State University where she was an Honorable Mention All-American and helped lead the Falcons to four MAC titles and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2007.

Achter ranks fifth in BGSU history in scoring, finishing with 1,580 career points, and is the Falcons' all-time leader in assists, with 688. She is the only player in school history with over 1,000 points and 600 assists.

She was eventually was inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2018.
