BGSU football pulls away from Ball State to set up showdown with Miami

MUNCIE, Ind. — Bowling Green State University’s football team didn’t fret over a last-minute Ball State touchdown in the second quarter that pulled the Cardinals within three points at halftime.

The Falcons proved they were just fine with the way they played in the second half.

BGSU scored 18 points in the third quarter and 28 overall in the second half to turn a 10-7 lead at the break into a convincing 38-13 Mid-American Conference victory over Ball State on Saturday at Scheumann Stadium.

“Winning and losing is fragile, and we missed some big plays in the first half that could’ve broken the game open,” BGSU coach Scot Loeffler said.
