CLEVELAND — Trey Thomas and his Bowling Green State University teammates learned a lot from the Falcons’ regular-season overtime losses to Central Michigan.
That paid dividends on Thursday in one of the biggest games for the Falcons in the past three years.
Thomas had 14 of his team-high 20 points in the final six minutes as the No. 5 seed Falcons finished on an 11-1 run to knock off the No. 4 Chippewas 66-56 in a Mid-American Conference men’s basketball tournament quarterfinal.
