AKRON — Akron didn’t make anything easy for Bowling Green State University, especially in the fourth quarter.
But for the first time in the last month, the Falcons made the plays they needed to late in a game to come out on top.
Harold Fannin, Jr.’s 31-yard touchdown run gave BGSU a seven-point lead with 2:39 left, and the Falcons held strong defensively on Akron’s ensuing drive after the Zips advanced into the red zone to come away with a 27-20 Mid-American Conference victory on Saturday at InfoCision Stadium.
“I think it’s huge for us momentum-wise,” BGSU wide receiver Finn Hogan said.
