DETROIT — Bowling Green State University’s football team put up a battle against another Power Five conference opponent, but the Falcons’ bowl victory drought stretched another year.
Minnesota turned a 10-9 halftime deficit into a two-score lead entering the fourth quarter, then withstood a BGSU comeback to hold off the Falcons 30-24 in the Quick Lane Bowl on Tuesday at Ford Field in Detroit.
“We can’t look at this as a negative. We lost the football game, but we played our tails off,” BGSU coach Scot Loeffler said. “We were outmanned a little bit with their defensive front on our offensive front.
