AKRON — For the second straight week, Bowling Green began a Saturday game as a road underdog and finished it as a winner.
Bowling Green’s defense was outstanding again, its offense found balance in the second half, and the Falcons earned their first winning streak in two years with a 21-6 victory against Akron at InfoCision Stadium.
Quarterback Jarret Doege threw two touchdown passes and Andrew Clair surpassed 100 yards rushing for the Falcons, who allowed no points in the second half for the second consecutive game.
Despite a sluggish first half offensively, Bowling Green (3-8, 2-5 Mid-American Conference) still took a lead into halftime against the Zips (4-6, 2-5 MAC).
