BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University hockey tallied three goals in the third period to seal a 5-3 win over Lake Superior State in the regular-season finale at Slater Family Ice Arena on Saturday.
With the victory, BGSU locked up one of the top four seeds in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association tournament and will host Michigan Tech in a best-of-3 series this Friday through Sunday at Slater.
Ahead 2-0 following a pair of second-period goals, the Falcons extended their lead with a goal off a power-play chance less than five minutes into the third. Brody Waters converted his 15th goal of the season as BGSU (16-13-4, 12-10-4 CCHA) went ahead of Lake Superior 3-0 at 4:27 of the period.
