ATHENS, Ohio – Turnovers and missed free throws cost the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team a chance to beat Ohio in a Mid-American Conference contest played at the Convocation Center Saturday.
The Falcons turned the ball over 22 times, including seven in both the first and fourth quarters, and connected on just 7-of-15 free throws (46.7 percent) in a 69-58 loss.
Carly Santoro finished with 16 points to lead Bowling Green (10-15, 2-12 MAC), which now has lost its last eight games. Caterrion Thompson had 11 and Sydney Lambert added 10 for the Falcons.
Amani Burke led Ohio (14-11, 8-6 MAC) with 15 points, while Taylor Agler scored 12 and Gabby Burris 10.
