AKRON — The Bowling Green State University football team found themselves in command of their game against Akron at several points Wednesday, including a 28-10 lead early in the third quarter.
But mistakes on both sides of the ball allowed the Zips to climb back into the game, and eventually Akron tied the game at 28-28 early in the fourth quarter.
Never fear, Falcons fans: BG pulled itself off the canvas with strong plays in all three phases of the game and escaped with a 31-28 victory at InfoCision Stadium.
The defense supplied the offense with the ball as Marcus Milton intercepted an Akron pass on the Zips 42 with 5:42 left.
