MOBILE, Ala. — When Bowling Green State University received its bid to the GoDaddy Bowl earlier this month, Falcon fans were not particularly happy.
The team deserved to play in a “bigger name” destination, fans argued. The newly crowned Mid-American Conference champions deserved a bigger-named opponent than Georgia Southern, the third-place team in the Sun Belt Conference.
But the players? Interim coach Brian Ward said the team does not share that disappointment.
“If there was any disappointment, it had to do more with having guys from Florida anticipating the possibility of playing a game in Florida,” Ward said.
