BG men beat USC-Upstate in Creek Classic

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Rodrick Caldwell’s big second half lifted the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team to an 83-74 win over USC-Upstate Friday in the first of three games in the Creek Classic hosted by Campbell University.

Caldwell scored 15 second-half points after the Falcons (4-1) had frittered away a 10-point first-half advantage. The sophomore finished with 18 points and seven assists.

Springfield High School product Demajeo Wiggins posted a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Dylan Frye also had 20 and Justin Turner added 10 for BG. Frye made 5-of-7 3-pointers in the contest while Caldwell went 5-for-8 from behind the arc; the rest of the Falcons combined to make just 1-of-6 3’s.
