BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University hockey team found itself trailing Anchorage after two periods of a Western Collegiate Hockey Association contest at the Slater Family Ice Arena Saturday.
But the Falcons were not playing poorly, which made the 2-1 deficit all the more potentially frustrating.
“We were creating chances around the other team’s net. We just weren’t executing around their net,” BG coach Chris Bergeron said. “We missed the net too much, and we weren’t hard enough on pucks.
“So the message to the group was, ‘Don’t let yourself be denied.’ Have the mind-set that you’re going to win this thing.
