AKRON — For the first time since 2011, the Bowling Green State University football team will not go bowling.
So while the Falcons finish this season, including Wednesday’s televised contest against Akron, coach Mike Jinks already has turned an eye toward preparing for 2017, especially in the area of recruiting.
NCAA rules prohibit Jinks from talking about future recruits until they sign with the program. But a number of sources indicate that Bowling Green already has at least 16 players who have verbally committed to the program — and that number has not dipped significantly despite the team’s struggles this season.
