HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Bowling Green State University claimed a 5-0 victory over Alabama-Huntsville in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association contest Saturday.
The victory was the 100th for Chris Bergeron as coach of the Falcons, who split their weekend series with the Chargers after losing 7-5 Friday.
Bowling Green (20-12-6, 16-7-5 WCHA) scored goals in all three periods to post its second 20-win season in a row, the first for the program since the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons.
Alabama-Huntsville finished the season 7-21-6 overall and 5-17-6 in the league.
Bowling Green got on the board at the 12-minute mark of the first period thanks to power-play goal by Brett D’Andrea.
