BOWLING GREEN — Weekday games in the Mid-American Conference have gained a measure of widespread attention with help from national television audiences, but attendance figures have suffered when games are not played on Saturdays.
All 12 MAC schools have seen declines when games have been moved to the week. The change has been especially noticeable at Bowling Green, which played its only weeknight game of the season on Tuesday at Doyt Perry Stadium.
The stadium was less than a third full at kickoff for the Falcons’ game vs. Kent State, with both teams entering the game at 1-7 overall.
