BOWLING GREEN — For the first time in more than a month, Bowling Green finished a game without a regulation win.
The Falcons saw their nine-game winning streak snapped Friday, as Bemidji State split the two-game series with a 4-3 victory at Slater Family Ice Arena.
The Beavers scored 20 seconds into overtime to hand the seventh-ranked Falcons (12-2, 3-1 WCHA) their first loss since Dec. 5. Ethan Somoza scored the game-winning goal — with assists credited to Brendan Harris and Tyler Vold — to end the game on the first shift of the extra period.
Bowling Green took seven penalties in the game — including a too-many-men call that negated a power play — and went 0-for-6 with the man advantage in the series finale.
