BOWLING GREEN — There is no doubt there will be far more compelling college football games Saturday than Bowling Green and Akron.
But in terms of raw, unvarnished desperation, the Falcons against the Zips takes the cake for just about any game left on the schedule this season.
With two contests remaining, Bowling Green is 0-4 and has to play a competitive game.
Akron is 0-4 and has lost 21 straight games overall dating to the 2018 season.
Next week, the Falcons are scheduled to finish the season against defending Mid-American Conference champion Miami; Akron is slated to play currently undefeated Buffalo, which is knocking on the door of being ranked.
