BOWLING GREEN — A friendly competition within Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball program has brought out the best in a lot of the Falcons’ players.
It also gives them a chance to show off some flashy hardware for their weekly efforts on the hardwood.
Since practices started in the summer, first-year BGSU coach Todd Simon has awarded a “Battle Belt” to the player who had the best week of practice. The large boxing championship-style belt has been a hit among the players.
“The very first time when we started doing it, it was just like ‘Oh, I didn’t know we were doing this,’ and I didn’t even know I won.
