The Falcons baseball team fell to the Cincinnati Bearcats 4-3 Monday, followed by a 6-3 victory over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in the team’s first home game of the year Wednesday.
“You want to be able to protect your turf,” Falcons head coach Danny Schmitz said. “We’ve been on the road for 12 games, so it was just nice to get here. I thought we played another solid game defensively.”
In Monday’s game, Cincinnati got on the board first as junior second baseman Jace Mercer hit an RBI groundout in the third inning to give the team a 1-0 lead.
