The Mid-American Conference series opener was played at Ball Diamond At First Merchants Ballpark Complex in Muncie, Indiana. A three-run third inning for the Cardinals proved to be the difference in the ballgame.
Bowling Green was matched up against a potential first-round pick in Ball State's right-handed pitcher Drey Jameson. Jameson picked up the win, firing 7.0 innings of one-run ball. BGSU forced Jameson to throw 116 pitches, but fellow righty Nick Floyd came on to earn the two-inning save.
