BOWLING GREEN — From complete heartbreak to total jubilation, Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team experienced a myriad of emotions in a short span on Friday night.
The Falcons’ last-second 64-63 Mid-American Conference loss to Western Michigan in which a late and perhaps questionable foul helped give the Broncos the win gave way to a joyous celebration when Northern Illinois edged Central Michigan 83-81 in double overtime just over a half an hour later.
The result? BGSU is Cleveland-bound for the MAC tournament.
“It’s an overwhelming feeling. I think this team is a team that deserves something like that,” BGSU senior guard Derrick Butler said.
