Jacksonville, Fla. – Redshirt senior Aliyah Gustafson used every opportunity she had Saturday to make a return trip to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, throwing the shot put 55-feet-3.5 (16.85m) on her third and final attempt at the NCAA East Region preliminary round at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Gustafson, who has made two previous trips to the outdoor national championships and two more to the indoor national championships, fouled on her first throw and recorded a mark of just 51-7 (15.72m) on her second attempt.
