AKRON — A third-quarter push wasn’t quite enough for Bowling Green State University on Saturday.
The Falcons played through foul trouble, committed untimely turnovers, and could not catch up to host Akron, which made a pair of double-digit runs and pulled away for a 79-69 victory at James A. Rhodes Arena.
“We just have a lot of work to do,” Falcons coach said. “I think the competitiveness piece, we’ve got to get a lot better at. I’m just watching our group — I don’t want to say we’re still figuring it out, but we do need to figure it out in both ways, and I think us competing at a higher level will help that.
