BOWLING GREEN — Knowing the state of Bowling Green's roster — the Falcons have a higher percentage of freshmen than any other Bowl Subdivision team — another losing season was not at all a surprise.
The manner in which the Falcons lost Saturday, however, was an ice-cold dose of reality — and it wasn't pretty.
Akron is also in year No. 2 for a new coaching staff, has similar roster issues, and had not won a game in two years prior to Saturday.
The Zips are Bowling Green's closest peer in the Mid-American Conference, and the Falcons still returned home with a humiliating 31-3 loss that easily qualifies for the lowest point of a year with no shortage of bad games.
