After Sweep of Lake Superior State, Kruse & Spezia pick up WCHA Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – After its sweep of Lake Superior State, a pair of Falcons from the Bowling Green hockey program garnered weekly awards from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, announced Monday afternoon. Both with four-point performances in the series, senior Tyler Spezia was named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman Brandon Kruse was honored as WCHA Rookie of the Week.

A native of Clinton Township, Mich., Spezia led the Falcons with four points on the weekend by three goals and one assist. Posting multi-point performances both nights, Spezia helped the Falcons to a sweep of Lake Superior State with eight shots on goal and a plus-3 rating on the ice.
