Cade Zimmerly has turned a chance into an opportunity.
Not many two-star recruits earn starting spots on major Division I football teams as a true freshman, but that’s exactly what Zimmerly did.
The Perrysburg graduate and reigning All-Blade player of the year was named the starting center for Bowling Green State University’s season-opening football game at Tennessee on Thursday night.
“It was my goal to start from the beginning,” Zimmerly said. “Once I achieved my first goal of starting, I’ve starting making different goals of what I want to do in the future.”
His future begins on Thursday, when the Falcons travel to 102,455-seat Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn.
