3 things to watch in Bowling Green's season opener

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green Falcons embark on a new adventure Thursday with a home game against Morgan State, their first game of 2019 and first under new coach Scot Loeffler.

Here are three things to keep in mind for the Falcons’ 7 p.m. start against the visiting Bears:

1. The Falcons debut a new offense

It’s fitting that Bowling Green’s first depth chart under new coach Scot Loeffler is “12 personnel,” which means one back and two tight ends. Loeffler’s tight-end-friendly and power-running looks bring a much different brand of offense to Bowling Green, and the Falcons plan to run a version of a tempo offense that Loeffler says is different from most because of its variety and physicality.
