BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University wants to end its up-and-down football season on a high note.
A victory over New Mexico State (6-6) in Monday afternoon’s Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit would be an enormous step forward for a BGSU program (6-6, 5-3 Mid-American Conference) searching for its first winning campaign since 2015.
BGSU, which is 5-8 all-time in bowl games, is in its first postseason contest since the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl (58-27 loss to Georgia Southern). A win would be the first bowl victory since the 2014 Camellia Bowl (33-28 victory over South Alabama).
