BOWLING GREEN – Two members of the Bowling Green State University hockey team won weekly honors from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, the league announced Monday.
Senior forward Tyler Spezia was named WCHA offensive player of the week, while freshman forward Brandon Kruse was named the league’s rookie of the week for the second week in a row.
Spezia had three goals and four points as the Falcons swept a two-game series at Lake Superior State. He scored the third goal of the second period and later added an assist in Friday’s 5-3 victory, then had two goals – including the game-winner – in Saturday’s 3-2 win.
