West Brom are confident of completing the signing of Huddersfield forward Karlan Grant before next Friday’s EFL deadline and are also considering a move for Josh King of Bournemouth.
Since Albion sealed promotion from the Championship in July, boss Slaven Bilic has urged the club to sign a pacy centre-forward, with Grant his top target.
Huddersfield had been holding out for £17million for the 23-year-old but there is now thought to be a feeling on both sides that a deal can be structured that will suit both parties. West Brom’s transfer budget this summer was only about £25m.
