Bournemouth have come up with a novel approach to ensure they don’t get sucked into a Premier League relegation battle – by ordering their players to wear orange glasses for two hours before bed each night!
The amber lenses of the ‘SleepSpecs’ reduce blue light emitted by mobile phones and tablets, which suppresses production of the sleep hormone melatonin.
Cherries chiefs reckon filtering out that harmful blue light will help the likes of Jack Wilshere get a better night’s sleep.
Dr Craig Roberts, head of sports medicine, told The Sun: “Many of our players spend long hours in hotel rooms and often watch television or play computer games.
