Roy Hodgson called Crystal Palace's fans 'spoiled' and said they need to show more 'empathy' after he narrowly avoided being struck by a missile thrown at him near the tunnel.
While the irate supporter missed Hodgson with the thrown object it was a sign of how the mood has soured at Selhurst Park this season.
A 2-0 home defeat to Bournemouth means Palace have won just four of their first 15 games in this campaign, leaving them slumped in 14th place in the table.
Made aware of the thrown missile Hodgson said afterwards that it was 'news' to him, but his ire quickly turned to the supporters.
