Dominic Solanke brought Bournemouth's six-match winless run to an end after scoring the only goal at Queens Park Rangers.
Solanke's 41st minute header from a Junior Stanislas free-kick was enough to seal three points for the Cherries who now return to the top of the Championship.
Only profligate finishing from Solanke himself and his team-mates prevented Scott Parker's side from winning by a more comfortable margin at QPR, who were playing their first match since December 5.
