Manchester United have reached agreement with Atalanta for striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund, who was left out of Atalanta’s squad to play a friendly at Bournemouth on Saturday, will cost an initial £64m plus up to £8m in add-ons.
The 20-year-old Dane has agreed personal terms over his move to Old Trafford and will sign a five-year contract with the option of an extra year.
The Italian club were originally demanding £86m, while United were reluctant to go over £60m for a player who only cost Atalanta £15m from Sturm Graz 18 months ago.
But the two clubs have reached a compromise after weeks of talks, taking United’s total spending this summer to £179m on Hojlund, Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
