Liverpool are considering lodging an appeal against Alexis Mac Allister’s red card in their win against Bournemouth, after the Argentine midfielder was sent off for a mistimed but not reckless tackle on Ryan Christie.
The Reds came from behind to beat Bournemouth but would be without key midfielder Mac Allister for three matches - against Newcastle, Aston Villa and Wolves - if Thomas Bramall’s on-field decision was to be upheld.
But Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool will talk about the red card, hinting that they are likely to lodge an appeal. ‘I saw the red card back and for sure we have to talk about it,’ said the Reds boss, whose team won after goals from Luis Diaz, Mo Salah and Diogo Jota.
