How Brentford would savour one final lap to close another marathon campaign. They have had enough practice by now.
Last week’s semi-final second leg against Bournemouth began with Thomas Frank and his players jogging around the pitch to stir fans. It ended with a jubilant stroll around their new stadium.
Both would pale in significance if they could end Saturday’s play-off final against Swansea with a lap of Wembley.
Perhaps none, though, will be as significant as those amassed away from prying eyes — and ears.
