Harvey Barnes is losing the race to be fit in time for Dean Smith's first game in charge against Man City... but star winger is hoping to be fit in time for Leicester's crucial relegation six-pointer against Wolves next week

Harvey Barnes is losing his race to be fit for Dean Smith’s first game as Leicester boss but could be in contention for the crucial clash with fellow strugglers Wolves on April 22.

The winger, who has 10 league goals this season, damaged a hamstring in the 1-0 home defeat by Bournemouth last weekend and is unlikely to recover in time to face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

But new boss Smith desperately needs Barnes available for the 10 days that could define Leicester’s survival battle. After meeting Wolves, Smith’s men take on Leeds at Elland Road on April 25, and Everton at home on May 1.
