Frank Lampard has prioritised signing a new striker in January to take the pressure off Dominic Calvert-Lewin as he searches for consistent fitness.
Everton's manager had hoped for big things from Calvert-Lewin this season but it has not gone to plan for the England striker, who will miss the crucial trip to Bournemouth due to an amalgamation of injuries.
Calvert-Lewin dislocated his shoulder during a defeat at Newcastle on October 19 and came off during last Saturday's loss to Leicester with hamstring damage; he has also suffered a recurrence of the knee issue that forced him to miss the first two months of the campaign.
