Manchester United's medical team are still investigating the injury to Donny van de Beek’s right knee before they will know how long the Dutchman faces on the sidelines.
Van de Beek hobbled out of Tuesday’s win over Bournemouth before half-time in some distress after his leg bent backwards under a challenge from Marcos Senesi who slipped before colliding with the United player.
It was a cruel end to what was only Van de Beek’s sixth Premier league start for United in two-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, and Erki ten Hag admitted after the game that the injury ‘did not look good’.
