Bournemouth 2-2 Napoli: Benik Afobe and Simon Francis score but Eddie Howe's side are denied an impressive win by a late Piotr Zielinski equaliser

Bournemouth signed off their pre-season schedule with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Napoli on Sunday afternoon.

Eddie Howe's side were second best in the opening period and fell behind to a Dries Mertens strike before goals from Benik Afobe and Simon Francis turned the game on it's head.

However they were denied a famous victory when Poland international Piotr Zielinski struck late to secure a draw for the Serie A outfit.

Napoli, who finished third in Serie A last season, started the match on the front foot and were nearly ahead inside four minutes when Kalidou Koulibaly headed a corner just over Asmir Begovic's bar.
