Bournemouth pulled themselves out of the bottom three after a crucial 2-0 victory over an injury-depleted Newcastle and former boss Eddie Howe at Vitality Stadium.
The visitors, whose list of absentees now tallies over 12, were visibly below par on the south coast and were made to pay after Dominic Solanke's second-half brace.
Solanke made the breakthrough on the hour mark after racing onto a loose ball inside the penalty area and smashing beyond Nick Pope at the near post.
All three points were wrapped up for Andoni Iraola's side after another timely intervention from their frontman, Solanke flicking home a rebound after a corner.
