Bournemouth 1-2 Sunderland: Last gasp Jermain Defoe penalty gives ten-men Black Cats a vital first Premier League win of the season

A late Jermain Defoe penalty was enough to give Sunderland their first win of the Premier League season.

David Moyes' men, hanging on for dear life after going down to ten men managed to see out the game for a vital three points.

Bournemouth had opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Dan Gosling, but Sunderland struck back through striker Victor Anichebe.

Midfielder Steven Pienaar picked up a second yellow card to reduce Sunderland to 10 men, but Defoe struck late from the penalty spot to give the Black Cats a much needed win.
