Bournemouth 1-0 Brighton & Hove Albion: super sub Joshua King fires Eddie Howe's side into the fourth round with extra-time winner

If the roars that greeted Bournemouth's winning goal in this same fixture last Friday had the sense of a euphoric release, this time around the celebrations felt more like soothing relief.

True, it came later than hoped for, as Brighton's stubborn resistance held out until the ninth minute of extra-time but substitute Josh King's goal, which bobbled beyond the terrific goalkeeper Tim Krul, felt only a matter of time.

All of sudden, Eddie Howe's season bears a sunnier complexion.

The tensions that enveloped Bournemouth's modest home before last Friday's comeback victory over Brighton have now diffused.
