Arsenal hope to have Jack Wilshere back for the start of next season as Bournemouth confirm on-loan midfielder has fractured his leg

Arsenal have stated that they hope to have Jack Wilshere back fit for the start of next season after Bournemouth confirmed the on-loan midfielder would miss the rest of the current campaign through injury.

As revealed by Sportsmail on Tuesday, the 25-year-old has suffered a hairline fracture of his left fibula after an accidental collision with Harry Kane in the Cherries' 4-0 defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

The English midfielder was hopeful he'd escaped serious injury after an X-ray the following day showed no break.

However, there were fears that the prognosis made on Sunday was far too premature given he only sustained the injury 24 hours earlier.
