A former Premier League and England U21 player has reportedly been banned from pharmacies for using fake prescriptions to obtain sleeping pills.

According to The Sun, the player in question used a letter that contained the name and details from a real surgery in Bournemouth in order to obtain zopiclone.

The outlet claim that the ex-professional became aggressive with staff members when told that his prescription was fake and fled before police were called.

A source reportedly said: 'There was a horrible set-to when he was refused his sleeping pills.
