Baseball’s best of the best will head to Arlington, Texas, this weekend for Tuesday’s All-Star Game. But first, front offices will seek to scoop up key prospects during the MLB Draft, which begins Sunday.
This year, the Guardians have the first pick despite having only a 2 percent chance to win the draft lottery. The Guardians are being quiet about who they’re likely to select, though the majority of mock drafts have them taking Oregon State second baseman Travis Bazzana or Georgia third baseman Charlie Condon. Whichever infielder the Guardians don’t take will likely be scooped up by the Reds, who own the second pick.
