The Red Sox Hall of Fame is about to get a little bigger. An eclectic group of five people will make up the 2018 Red Sox Hall of Fame class, the club announced Thursday, including two members of the drought-breaking 2004 World Series championship team, a slugging standout at the hot corner, a longtime employee and a 19th-century masher.
The full class: former Red Sox players Kevin Youkilis, Derek Lowe, Mike Lowell and John Frank "Buck" Freeman, along with Alphonso "Al" Green, who will be this year's the non-uniformed inductee.
The Class of 2018 will be honored at a Red Sox Foundation gala on May 24 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston.
